Maximum Throughput Wins Awards for Web-Based Editing Service at NAB 2008

MAXedit Web Edition Honored with Videography’s “2008 Best of Show” and TV Technology’s “STAR’ Awards

MONTREAL, Canada, April 24, 2008 — It was a show of force for Maximum Throughput Inc. (www.max-t.com), developers of ultra high performance software-based solutions for networked storage infrastructure and media management, who took home awards for its newly unveiled MAXedit Web Edition, a subscription-based online editing service, during the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) 2008 convention last week in Las Vegas. Editors, writers and engineers from leading broadcast and production publications Videography and TV Technology awarded MAXedit Web Edition with their “2008 Best of Show” and “STAR” Award respectively.

“Maximum Throughput is honored to be a recipient of Videography’s and TV Technology’s prestigious awards. It’s a great honor to be one of the few companies bestowed with several awards when compared against the roughly 1,600+ exhibitors at NAB,” said Giovanni Tagliamonti, chief executive officer for Maximum Throughput, Inc. “We’re thrilled with the recogniton that MAXedit Web Edition has received. MAXedit’s technology assures editors that they’re always editing their content in its native acquisition format with frame-accurate, fluid operations and real-time preview for full creative control. With multiple codec handling and all editing operations and effects executed on the online server, editors are free to use inexpensive, standard PCs or laptops in their studios or in the field without compromising high-quality production standards.”

NAB 2008 marked the first time the company offered editing solutions. With MAXedit Web Edition, freelance and station-affiliated TV journalists and videographers reporting from the field have a simple, streamlined editing solution that’s readily accessible whenever and wherever they need to work. Since MAXedit Web Edition is a subscription-based online service, customers can upload their SD or HD content—including HDV, DVCPRO, MPEG-2, and H.264 based formats—to the online server and edit it and share it with other editors via a Web browser interface.

MAXedit Web Edition combines the rich editing toolset and responsive user interface that people expect from a NLE workstation with the broad access and sharing they expect from a Web application. Customers don’t need to purchase, install, or maintain their own high-end editing infrastructure because the service provides everything they need. The core technology behind providing editing as a service is based on MAXedit Server Edition, a cost-effective, server-based workgroup editing solution for those customers wishing to house an editing environment within their own facility. MAXedit Server Edition allows multiple editors to edit uncompressed and compressed multi-resolution content from a single server in their facility using standard PCs, low-cost MAXedit Server software, and a Web browser without taxing their LAN’s bandwidth.
