Montreal, CANADA, April 5, 2007 Maximum Throughput Inc. (www.max-t.com), developers of ultra high performance software-based solutions for networked storage infrastructure and media management, announced today that Drive Thru in Minneapolis has purchased an entry level Sledgehammer system to simplify how jobs flow through their post production pipeline. Bob George, Drive Thru’s President of Editorial and VFX, offered the following, “We identified the need a while back to tie all our systems from various vendors into a more cohesive unit that could collaborate effectively in getting jobs done. Our challenge clearly lay in updating our infrastructure so that the process from offline editing and graphics layout through to finishing on our Autodesk Flame and Smoke systems was streamlined. To highlight this point, we used to have to digitize all our material twice. With Sledgehammer, we export directly from our Final Cut Pro systems and then use the data live, straight off the system.” Drive Thru employs a variety of applications to get the job, and thus needed a shared storage solution that all systems could access. They also required a solution that could deliver the bandwidth that was required to deal with their uncompressed workflow. Sledgehammer is a high-powered shared storage solution that delivers both these capabilities. Commenting further, George added, “We’re finding new uses for the Sledgehammer every day, and it has become our hub for tapeless post, as more than half our projects no longer originate on tape. Because of its speed, we can now use media stored on the system directly from our Autodesk seats without importing the material onto our Stone disk arrays, saving tons of time and money. We’ve also started archiving finished projects directly onto the system, giving us back precious hours on our high end effects systems. And I have to say, the price point for the system was incredibly reasonable.” John Miller, Max-T’s Vice President of Worldwide Sales added this about the purchase, “Drive Thru is exactly the type of boutique post production customer for whom we built our entry level Sledgehammer, and we’re excited that they’re seeing the value of the system so quickly. From smaller post houses, to regional broadcasters and O&Os, we’re confident that this level of system delivers exactly what they need. And, the system is upgradeable to our full line of Sledgehammer products, so the purchase is fully insured for future growth and expansion.” About Drive Thru About Maximum Throughput Phone: (978) 946-9408 Maximum Throughput Inc.
