Maximum Throughput to Showcase
New Technology at NAB 2006

Industry’s First Ever Uncompressed Dual HD
Stream DDR Functionality Among New Offerings

Montreal, Quebec – April 19, 2006 – Maximum Throughput Inc. (www.max-t.com), developers of ultra high performance software-based solutions for networked storage infrastructure and media management, announced today that they will be demonstrating several industry first technologies at the National Association of Broadcaster’s (NAB) show in Las Vegas, April 24-27.

In addition to demonstrating the Sledgehammer™ and Xstoner™ product lines as they are used in many facilities today, the company will be showing the following new technologies:

  • Sledgehammer Dual Stream – the industry’s first-ever uncompressed dual stream HD-capable digital disk recorder (DDR). The ideal system in support of disk-to-disk color grading, Sledgehammer’s new dual stream capability allows it to supply the source footage for grading, and simultaneously act as the destination VTR, recording the final graded material to the same storage. Sledgehammer systems still maintain their high-speed NAS capabilities in the dual stream configuration.

  • MAXcluster – the first clustered storage solution to support guaranteed real-time I/O streams. MAXcluster™ provides a transparent clustered storage solution for multiple Sledgehammer systems, and supports multiple real-time I/O streams at HD and even 2K resolutions while still providing simultaneous NAS-based access to all shared contents.

  • High-Speed Backup – backup via Infiniband or 10GigE connectivity. Supporting sustained speeds of up to 500MB/sec., this capability eliminates the bottleneck that arises when dealing with many terabytes of data that must be regularly backed up.

  • Wiretap and PC Support for Xstoner – Xstoner will be shown running on both the Mac and PC platforms, and will also be demonstrated in a Wiretap-enabled Autodesk environment.

Commenting on the company’s upcoming presence at NAB was Giovanni Tagliamonti, the company’s CEO. “We’re very excited about our NAB presence this year. This will be our biggest show yet, and with eight Sledgehammer systems on the floor, in our booth and with our partners Sony, Autodesk, and Cintel, we’re very eager to demonstrate both today’s shipping product as well as the ground breaking solutions that our development team, in working with our customers, have come up with.”
