(www.max-t.com), a provider of high performance networked storage and media management solutions, announced today that Fox News Channel's New York bureau has selected Sledgehammer as the networked storage solution for their facility upgrade. Fox News Channel's New York bureau is utilizing the Sledgehammer SD!O system with Xstoner software as a high-speed file server, video digitization station and media transfer gateway serving the various workstations within the facility. Fox News Channel’s New York bureau joins a growing list of marquee customers in the United States, Europe, Canada and Asia. Fox News Channel's New York bureau selected the Sledgehammer SD!O with the Sledgehammer SOS high availability option to serve as a central repository for the graphics department. Sledgehammer integrated with their existing PC and Macintosh systems running various 2D and 3D software packages as well as their 6 various Discreet systems. With an eye towards the future, Sledgehammer provides an affordable migration path to HD. Xstoner provides Fox News Channel’s New York bureau Mac and PC users an intuitive, graphical browser to manage clips and image data stored on Discreet framestores and their Sledgehammer storage.
