| Amsterdam, Netherlands, IBC (Stand 7.630) - September 9, 2005 - Maximum Throughput Inc. (www.max-t.com), provider of high performance networked storage and media management solutions, announced today the immediate availability of its Xstoner 2 client software for Macintosh OS X systems and Xstoner 2 server software for IRIX® & Linux based Autodesk editing & effects solutions. Xstoner is a client/server application for content manipulation and interconnectivity between PC and Mac CG workstations, Autodesk editing & effects systems and Maximum Throughput's Sledgehammer™ NAS, SD!O™ and HD!O™, media-aware shared storage. Xstoner makes centrally captured SD, HD, and film scans readily available to operators of Discreet® Inferno® , Flame® , Flint® , Fire® , and Smoke® running on IRIX® and Discreet Flint® and Smoke® Linux based systems, extending their capabilities and enhancing the overall post-production workflow. Offline editors and CG artists will benefit from Xstoner's seamless connectivity with online suites and centralized storage, while Autodesk systems editors and artists will find its content and image format manipulation capabilities a great time saving tool. Facility customers will appreciate the fast turn around in preparing dailies and the remote project review capabilities of Xstoner. The new version of Xstoner client for Windows, along with the new version of Xstoner client/server utilizing the Autodesk Wiretap™ API will be available shortly. Maximum Throughput Vice President of Engineering Mahmoud Al-Daccak said "This new release provides users with a host of new features and a streamlined user interface based on direct feedback from our customers. Our support for Autodesk Wiretap, in the immediate future, will offer a tighter integration with Autodesk's media and entertainment solutions, providing access to content metadata like clip layering information. With Xstoner facility-wide connectivity, customers can streamline their workflow and accomplish more in less time. This furthers our ideal of Work, Don't Wait™." "Wiretap extends our already robust API support and fosters software development from third parties to create powerful, connected workflows for our customers," said Marc Petit, VP of Product Development at Autodesk's Media and Entertainment Division. "Xstoner is a great example of how we are working to create open, connected production pipelines based around standard APIs. The ability to access, move and manipulate content stored on Autodesk Stone® Direct speeds production, and ultimately makes facilities more efficient." Artists and administrators alike can visually browse clips stored on their Sledgehammer and Autodesk's editing & effects systems with Xstoner 2 client installations. They can easily transfer files among different Autodesk framestores, irrespective of their software version or between the Sledgehammer centralized storage and the Autodesk framestores. New content manipulation capabilities in Xstoner 2 include: native support for MPEG 1 / MPEG 2 Encoding, full spatial standards conversion, and more graphics and video format support including H.264, JPEG 2000 and full layer support Photoshop® PSD files. The new interface provides an edit preview window, viewer playback control enhancements, with support for HD playback, and new layout and navigation tools. Clip browsing is enhanced with a new list view that provides customizable and sortable columns, easier media selection, and hardcopy support for printing. Additionally, the integrated Webstoner module allows users to use the web to remotely connect to Sledgehammer and Autodesk systems and visually browse through their respective contents. The Xstoner server software can run on several Autodesk systems in a facility and allows multiple concurrent client connections, so a large number of users can access the framestores on their IRIX and Linux based discreet® systems simultaneously, either from within the facility or outside the facility using the web. Xstoner server provides batch processing capabilities for users to maximize productivity and to free up systems to focus on creativity instead of data/video transfer or basic image manipulation operations. Included in Xstoner server software is XSCommander which provides support for peer-to-peer transfer of content between servers. With XSCommander, you can connect to and disconnect from various servers, two at a time and move files between servers by selecting them and clicking on the proper directional arrow buttons. Maximum Throughput has integrated Xstoner with its award-winning Sledgehammer family of NAS solutions, resulting in the combined capabilities of several seamless components working in unison. Post-production and broadcast facilities can now initiate and control the transfer of content between machines without the bottlenecks normally associated with moving large amounts of content around a facility. Additionally, authorized users can remotely and securely review and approve post projects in through a web browser. Xstoner server pricing starts at $3,000 per server. Xstoner client software prices start at $500. Discounts are available for multiple clients and servers. Site licenses are also available. About Maximum Throughput Maximum Throughput Inc.
